iEARN-Georgia 2008

iEARN is an International Education and Resource Network, that encourages ICT utilization in learning and teaching process. The program is being successfully realized in more than 120 countries and suggests more than 100 projects in humanity and social sciences, mathematics and natural sciences, language and creative arts. Schools interested to get involved in the program choose one of the iEARN projects and collaborate with the students from different countries to do research around the topic, write essays, take pictures, organize on-line exhibitions, prepare power point presentation and brochures and share them with each others.

Deer Leap Foundation organizes contest “iEARN-Georgia 2008” in order to encourage schools to get involved in iEARN. The project aims to teach teachers and students of Georgian public schools to plan and realize collaborative, educational Internet projects with active ICT utilization; to define impact of ICT and collaborative projects on the students' competence-building.

The winner team and teacher will travel to Uzbekistan to attend the 12th Youth Summit, where they will present their project. Also, the winner teacher will meet his/her colleagues and share experience on the 15th annual iEARN conference.

The finalists of total 10 teams and 10 teachers will participate in summer camp organized by Deer Leap Foundation, where they will learn new ways of ICT utilization.

Schools interested to participate in the contest should fill in an application form and send to the e-mail address: iearngeorgia@gmail.com. Only one application is allowed from school.
